The Record System Behind Our Cross-Connection Programs

Every backflow device, test report, and notice letter in one place, built around California's Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook.

The daily work of a program, in one system

A cross-connection program lives on its records: which devices exist, which are due, who tested them, and what was sent to the customer.

Every device, one record

Every backflow prevention assembly in your program, all ten device types in the Handbook, tracked in one place. Photos and paperwork attach to the device record.

Test reports come to you

Each notice letter prints with a QR code. The tester scans it and files the report from a phone form, with no account and no app to install.

Notice letters line themselves up

First, second, and third and final notices, non-compliance and shut-off notices, failed test, protection required, assessment and thank-you letters. The system proposes each device's next letter.

Hazard assessments, guided

A guided form walks the property, starts as a draft, and is finished by the specialist with the finding recorded. Batch entry covers a whole street or facility in one sitting.

A review queue that flags problems

Reports wait in one queue, flagged before you accept them: an expired tester certification, an out-of-date gauge calibration, a first-time tester, a possible duplicate, or mismatched device details.

Records ready for review

An incident log with the State Water Board notification date, an annual program summary, and spreadsheet downloads. Moving in is a bulk upload of your spreadsheet, previewed row by row, with undo.

What your office sees

Real screens from Exodus Water Compliance, shown with sample data.

Exodus Water Compliance home screen: reports to review, overdue devices, and hazard assessments waiting, shown with sample data
The home screen answers one question: what needs attention. Reports to review, devices overdue or due in the next 30 days, failed tests waiting on a letter, and assessments waiting for the specialist.
The letters page in Exodus Water Compliance: devices grouped under the next notice each one needs, shown with sample data
Every device sits under the next letter it needs, from the first notice through the shut-off notice. Print the batch, mark the letters sent, and the record updates.
The phone form a backflow tester opens from the QR code on a notice letter, shown with sample data
The form opens for one device, with its details filled in to check against the assembly. Sections match the device type, drafts survive a dead signal, and up to five files, photos included, go with the report.

Built around the Handbook

The system follows California's Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook: the ten device types it recognizes, hazard assessments and their degrees of hazard, the incident record with its State Water Board notification date, and the annual summary of the program. The records it keeps are the records the Handbook asks a program to keep.

One boundary, stated plainly: this is a record-keeping tool, not legal advice. It does not write your Cross-Connection Control Plan and it does not make compliance determinations. The Plan, and the judgment calls in a program, stay with certified specialists. Our Cross-Connection Control services are where that work happens.

Run it yourselves, or have us run it

Run your program on it

Your office staff do the daily work in the system at the Administrator, Staff, or View only level. Your records stay yours: every list downloads as a spreadsheet.

Have Exodus run your program

Exodus administers your program on this same system under our Ongoing CCCP Administration & Program Coordination service. Same records and letters, with our specialists doing the work.

Questions systems ask

Who is Exodus Water Compliance for?

California public water systems that run a cross-connection control program: cities, water districts, mutual water companies, and the contractors who run programs for them. It is built for the office staff who do the daily work of the program.

How does access work?

Accounts are by invitation only. Send the request form below and a person reviews it. If the fit is right, we set your system up and invite your staff by email, at the Administrator, Staff, or View only level your system chooses.

Does it replace our Cross-Connection Control Plan?

No. The system keeps the records of the program: devices, test reports, letters, hazard assessments, and incidents. Your Cross-Connection Control Plan itself stays a document prepared with a certified Cross-Connection Control Specialist.

What does it cost?

Access is arranged system by system, based on the size of the program. There is no published price list. Ask through the form below and we will give you a straight answer for your system.
